Assisting the Hilton Brighton Metropole on local marketing strategy during their £8 million refurb.  A self managed spectacular event for 600 guests: delivering the WOW factor and attracting a very specific target audience.
A recognised ‘Business Advisor’ for Business Link – specialising in marketing advice for businesses less than 2 years old. This has been an ongoing contract which has been ongoing for three years. Nick has been outsourced by Edeal to deliver this government funded contract. www.edeal.org.uk
Marketing Consultant for the Royal Pavilion – here the brief was to increase footfall to the venue. Events, media buying, strategic partnership marketing were among our duties.
Launched Grace of Brighton – a new late night venue for Brighton. Brighton’s first venue to be granted a ‘full nude’ liscence. Here we assisted with set up/ operations/ marketing and a launch event.
Launched Brighton Visitor Magazine in October 2007, heading their marketing and PR. Brighton Visitor are now distributing over 40,000 magazines a month, are sponsors of the FRINGE Festival and have just introduced Pinky as their PR ambassador. HMC continue to work with this tourism magazine on a consultative basis.

Prior to the Establishment of the Harvey Marketing Company, Nick Harvey (the owner of HMC) was involved in the following:
Cherrywood Investments, Group Marketing Director
Including the Insight City News, Stanmer House, Newlands College, The Abbey Hotel. Simultaneously managed a portfolio of projects during intense takeover period: including re-branding, company buyout, and financial administration. Manage edited a fortnightly newspaper to ensure synergy between advertising sales and editing team. Personnel selection was ongoing. Assessed the feasibility of launching an International School to a global market including China. Launched Stanmer House from conceptual idea to events/ conferences and weddings venue. Establishing it as one of Brighton’s newest attractions.
Drakes of Brighton, Sales and Marketing Manager
Positioned the hotel as one of the top new boutique hotels in the world. As one of three managers in this challenging project: managed, launched and nurtured a product to achieve a high operational performance. Developed a new brand in ‘drakes’ and positioned the hotel as the best hotel of its kind in Brighton. ‘Design led with service from a bygone era.’ Achieved average occupancy levels of 93% within 9 months of opening and various accreditation’s with Conde Nast Traveller. Sales strategy, brochure design, PR, ongoing web-development, Search Engine Optimisation, brand development, duty management, recruitment and conference organisation covered many day-to-day tasks.
Equity Ski, Business Development Manager
Responsible for all new business opportunities, providing direction and focus for the rest of the Sales Team. Improved B2B Sales by 292 %. Pioneered a ‘Specialist Events Team’ within the ski industry focusing on Military Skiers. Doubling quarterly targets – set at 300 passengers.
Reed Accountancy, Regional Sales Manager
Created an extremely successful niche recruitment ‘desk’ in the field of Chartered Accountancy. Working closely with divisional manager. Achieved record-breaking sales targets and passed a Postgraduate Qualification. Highest income in a given month – £52,000. Average income per month £18K, exceeding all targets set. Achieved a 1st place status within the whole Accounting Division.
SkiPlan Ltd, Operations Manager
For a ‘Ski Tour’ Operator. Responsible for the coordination of 85,000 overseas guests.
