Nick Harvey was involved with the creation of the Drakes Hotel in Brighton. A conceptual idea which was service led and marketed remarkably well. This project was awarded ‘Top 50 New Boutique Hotel in the World’ status by Conde Nast Traveller in 2005. Consequently Drakes were given a further award for best product with best ’sea’ views in the UK, – this was a Conde Nast accreditation too. Nick Harvey left the hotel with a 94% occupancy, along with an award winning bar and restaurant. The restaurant was and still is the Gingerman restaurant, – one of Brighton’s most recognised and Egon rated restaurants.
